Sample profile: this is how each maker will look once we introduce them. It is not yet a real person or piece.
Functional ceramics
Ilobasco, Cabañas
Wheel-thrown, lead-free glaze
Clay is worked slowly: first the wheel, then the kiln, and finally the hand that uses it.
This is a sample profile. This is how each maker's story will look once we approve them: who is behind the workshop, where they work and how they learned the craft. Here, in their own words and with their approval, goes what brings them back to the wheel every day, where their clay comes from and why each cup turns out different from the last. It also explains how to look after the piece at home so it lasts for years: wash it by hand, keep it off direct flame and dry it before putting it away. The story runs between one hundred and one hundred and fifty words, takes a minute to read and makes it clear that behind what you hold in your hand there is a person with a name, a town and a craft learned over years and cared for through daily use.
