Komatsu Mining — formerly Joy Global — builds the full underground line: 3-, 4- and 7-tonne LHD loaders designed for narrow veins, plus the ZJ21 drill jumbo and the ZB21 bolter, which work in drifts of about 3 metres. Here the constraint is not force: it is how tall and how wide the machine is.

The base machine, the special configuration and the commissioning arrive as one machine delivered by the group. No finger-pointing between suppliers when something fails.
Local support for the base machine
It is a Komatsu: parts, workshop and certified technicians in El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama, with the same KOMTRAX telematics as the rest of the fleet.
